ADB discusses using digitalisation to deliver climate resilient infrastructure

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) co-organised a workshop on the topic “Using Digitalization to Deliver Climate Resilient Infrastructure”, in Jakarta (Indonesia) on 29 September 2022.

Edy Juharsyah, Director of Budget Planning and International Cooperation of the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, together with Jiro Tominaga, ADB Indonesia Resilient Mission Country Director, introduced the workshop with opening remarks about recent innovations used to strengthen planning, design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of climate resilient infrastructure.

Results of collaboration with ESA through the GDA programme and its precursor initiative, EO4SD, were presented in particular with the participation of Paolo Manunta, ESA Representative at the Asian Development Bank, who highlighted the impacts of using Earth Observation technologies. Over the past 5 years, transfer of knowledge occurred in the water, agriculture and marine sectors through this collaboration, which is still supporting Indonesia’s government priorities through a project on flood protection in the North Coast of Java Island.
