The European Space Agency (ESA) will contribute to the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) webinar on “Space Technology for Energy and Cross-Sector Innovation: Transforming the Asia-Pacific Region” on 13 February 2025.
ESA’s Zoltan Bartalis, GDA Urban, Energy, and FFF Technical Officer, will present insights on the role of Earth Observation (EO)-based technology in supporting energy innovation and sustainability across Asia-Pacific. He will provide insights on ESA’s Global Development Assistance’s (GDA) Clean Energy thematic activity, highlighting how EO data could enable better energy planning.

The event will explore the potential of EO applications to support clean energy transitions, infrastructure development, and cross-sectoral innovation in emerging economies.
Organised by ADB’s Emerging Areas Team in the Energy Sector Office, this knowledge-sharing session brings together experts from ESA, ADB, and the private sector to discuss how space technologies can unlock new opportunities for sustainable energy and economic resilience in the region.
