The UN – Austria Symposium 2022 took place online from the 13th to the 15th of September with the theme “Space for climate action: experiences and best practices in mitigating and adapting to climate change and supporting sustainability on Earth”. The event focuses on showcasing the most recent initiatives as well as best practices in mitigating and adapting to climate change and supporting sustainability on Earth.
GDA Programme coordinator Christoph Aubrecht took part in the second panel of the symposium, entitled “recommendations for future activities”. Aside from presenting the GDA programme and how it helps the mainstreaming of Earth Observation into Development and the adoption of sustainable solutions, the necessity to listen to user needs and putting challenges first (rather than technology) was emphasised.
