On 11 November, Imperative Space and Caribou hosted a webinar exploring the GDA ABC Knowledge Hub and the GDA Analytics and Processing Platform (APP). The session was moderated by Ravi Kapur from Imperative Space.
Launched together in July 2025, the Knowledge Hub and APP are designed to empower the growing GDA community, enhancing knowledge sharing, building capacity, and streamlining access to Earth Observation data and processing tools. Together, they mark an important step forward in strengthening the use of EO for development assistance.

We were joined by Mariangela Cataldo, ESA Technical Officer for the Knowledge Hub, and Patrick Griffiths, ESA Technical Officer for the APP, who shared background insights and the vision behind both platforms. The session also featured engaging demonstrations from Chiara Novelli (Imperative Space) and Alessia Cattozzo (MEEO), who walked us through the portals’ key features and user journeys.

This webinar built on the recent ESA GDA Knowledge Event held at ESA ESRIN, which brought together over 80 participants, including Earth Observation experts, policy-makers, international financial institutions, and country representatives. The event centred on collaboration and the practical application of EO tools in development finance.
Adding real-world perspectives, we welcomed two participants from the ESRIN event, Foster Mensah (Executive Director, CERSGIS, University of Ghana) and Peter Baum (Senior Energy Specialist, Asian Development Bank). They shared their first-hand experiences using the platforms, key takeaways from the Knowledge Event, and thoughts on how these tools could support future work in their respective fields.
If you missed the webinar, you can catch up with the full recording here. To explore the platforms yourself, visit the ABC Knowledge Hub and APP pages.
This session is part of a continuing webinar series under the GDA Monitoring & Evaluation and Impact Assessment activities.

We look forward to welcoming you to the next session!
