How Can Space-Based Data Make a Difference on the Ground?

The GDA Impact Stories from Space Challenge is an annual call to identify and share powerful examples of how satellite Earth Observation (EO) is driving real-world results in global development.

Through this open challenge, ESA’s Global Development Assistance (GDA) programme invites you to share stories that demonstrate the practical value, uptake, and impact of EO — or highlight where EO could have made a difference.

The best submissions will be featured through GDA’s communication channels and considered for the GDA Impact Award or GDA Innovation Award.

First edition launching in July 2025

Use the form below to register and receive updates about the submission process, events, and results.

About the Challenge

Participants are invited to submit:

Impact Stories
Initiatives where EO data has already been used successfully to support development objectives.
