The European Space Agency (ESA) and the United Nations Office for South‑South Cooperation (UNOSSC) have joined forces to leverage satellite Earth Observation data as a powerful tool for sustainable development. Their collaboration focuses on transforming open‑access space data into actionable insights for countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Small Island States. By co‑designing tailored approaches, building local capacity, and enabling knowledge exchange, the partnership aims to help governments address challenges such as climate resilience, agriculture, urban growth, and disaster risk reduction. This initiative underscores how South‑South and triangular cooperation can bridge data gaps, empower communities, and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
