SatSummit 2022 took place on 28 and 29 September 2022 in Washington DC (USA), with the participation of key stakeholders from the satellite industry and experts on the use of satellite data for global development.

The World Bank (WB), one of the main partners of the GDA programme, took part in the event with Edward Anderson, Senior Technology and Resilience Specialist for the WB’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, participating in a panel on the implementation of satellite imagery for sustainable development.

During this session, the new WB Digital Earth Partnership (DEP) was announced. As mentioned by Alex Chunet, ESA representative at the World Bank, the DEP “will be a central stakeholder in the growing activities deployed through the ESA-WB partnership”.
