[VIDEO] Earth Observation for Environmental, Social, and Governance Schemes

International Financial Institutions (IFIs) are increasingly realising the potential use of Earth Observation (EO) for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Schemes. However, it is an area that is still not fully understood. To address this gap on behalf of GDA, Caribou Space published a topical overview under the Monitoring & Evaluation and Impact Assessment (M&E) activity, looking at the value of EO for ESG by IFIs, read it here.

A webinar offering valuable insights and discussion on this topic was held on 29th January 2024, promoting the use of EO in ESG by IFIs. The aim of the webinar was to demonstrate the significant role ESG plays in development interventions, as well as showcasing the value that EO data brings to ESG.

Host Carlotta Maucher, (Research Associate, Caribou Space) was joined by an expert panel, Alex Chunet (ESA representative at the World Bank) Dieter Wang (WB), Oliver Mundy (IFAD) and Rakhat Zhanuzakova (IFAD Tech).

Informative presentations and a highly engaging Q&A session were enjoyed by a global audience of over 80 people. For those who missed the webinar, a recording of the event can be found below.
