DESCRIPTION:In November 2022\, Caribou Space and London Economics published a report on behalf of ESA’s Global Development Assistance (GDA) programme called Wider Economic Benefits from Satellite Earth Observation in Developing Countries. This webinar will describe the key findings and conclusions from this report.\n\nThe impacts of satellite Earth Observation (EO) for sustainable development are well documented\, but the wider benefit of EO to developing countries is less understood. To address this gap\, the GDA initiated a study under the Monitoring & Evaluation and Impact Assessment activity\, with a particular focus on EO’s contribution to ‘digital spillovers’.\n\n

SUMMARY:Leveraging Development Finance (Part 2) – Procurement Insights
DESCRIPTION:The objective of this webinar is to present and discuss the nature of World Bank EO-related procurement opportunities and modalities to access them. This event will offer EO service providers the opportunity to better understand the existing regulation that governs WB procurements\, the eligibility criteria\, the steps to follow\, and the constraints or processes specific to EO-related procurements. In addition\, the speakers will provide general guidelines and advice on the best ways to approach those opportunities as well as the recent patterns and the evolution in the type of EO-related products and services that are being procured. Speakers will include Alex Chunet\, ESA Representative to World Bank; Bwalya Mumba\, World Bank Procurement Specialist; and Benjamin Stewart\, Senior Geographer\, World Bank.
